Feng Shui Tactics For Back To School: Your Child’s Electronic Arsenal!

Feng Shui for Back To School: Girl Texting

The when and where of it all! Feng Shui Tactics For Back To School

I know last week I said I was going to talk about bedroom decor, but this is important and is something that every parent should consider. We live in an age where we are bombarded with electronic gadgetry and communications. This goes right to the heart of bedroom decor in America, electronics should not be in your child’s room.

The list of things that should be portable, but stored in the living room or office of your home.

  1. Computer – Your child should have one, but gone are the days of a desktop.  Get your child a mini laptop or one suitable for his or her age and needs.  It should be made available to your child for his or hers studies for references and research, but removed when it becomes a distraction.  It should not be allowed in their bedroom at bedtime. They should entertain themselves with it in “public” rooms of your home with your supervision.
  2. Phone – Your child will complain and probably through a tantrum, but during study time and bedtime the blackberry or iphone needs to be stored in your desk locked away.  They will thank you when they are older.
  3. Mp3/Mp4 Players –  This should be treated exactly like the cell.  It’s for entertainment, thus not available during study time or bedtime.

A television should not be in any bedroom, especially in a child’s bedroom.  They rob personal growth and energy from rest and concentration time.  The television is already becoming a thing of the past like the rotary phone, but if you still use one it should be in a “public” room such as the living room or family room. They are entertainment.  Your child should be given time for entertainment, but should also be encouraged to be active and also encouraged for quiet time for growth and thinking skills.

Stereos  and Consoles are also gadgetry that should be placed in “public” rooms.  If your child has time for entertainment in his or her room allow them the used of their laptop, iphone/blackberry or  Mp3/Mp4 player during that time period only.  Make sure to get it back and “put it away” during study time and bedtime.  Times they are always a changin’, so you have the job of policing and guiding your child to success.  Feng shui can only give you direction, you are the only one that can act on your child’s behalf.

Your child with a personal kua of 3 should have their head pointed or be facing East for their best result in retention and study. So when picking their bedroom choose one that is conducive to them facing East when sitting at their desk and when they are laying down on their bed, so that their head is pointing East. Feng Shui Tactics For Back To School: Your Child’s BED!

Sleep is one of the most important aspect to learning! Without it you are in trouble! This goes especially for children. So, your child’s personal kua becomes imperative to the success and personal growth which you are responsible for.

Your Child's Bedroom And Bed Placement

Personal Growth is a third done in sleep!

Once you have determined your child’s personal kua you can then figure the out the direction the bed should be placed for better retention and conception in learning. The personal growth direction is the most important direction for a healthy growing child in feng shui.

You will want to first determine your child’s personal kua. You will then know their personal growth direction based on their kua. You will then look at their bed. You will want to make sure that the bed from the headboard can view both the door and the window, but is not directly in front of the doorway or the window.

You will need to make sure that there is no mirror directly in front of the foot board of the bed. The headboard should be against a wall or corner so that the child’s head when laying in bed is pointing in his or hers personal growth direction.

The linens you choose should be in a color supportive to your child’s personal kua and should not have patterns or depictions of animals or action. They should be calming. I would suggest solid colors. The bed itself should have a solid headboard and a firm supportive mattress. Water beds are just bad feng shui!

Your child with a personal kua of 2 should have their head pointed or be facing Southwest for their best result in retention and study. So when picking their bedroom choose one that is conducive to them facing Southwest when sitting at their desk and when they are laying down on their bed, so that their head is pointing Southwest. Feng Shui Tactics For Back To School: Your Child’s Desk 1

Better Retention Of Information

Reception of new ideas and retention of information flow is best from certain directions

Personal kua determines the placement of the desk in your child’s place of study, usually their bedroom. Once you’ve determined your child’s personal kua you can then place their desk, so that they automatically are facing the best direction while studying. Retention of information is the key to success in school.

Try and make sure that your child has backing when placing his or her desk within their room. What does that mean??? Try and place the desk so that when the child is sitting at it he or she is facing in their personal growth or “education” direction and so that they can see the door and window from where they are sitting preferably with a solid wall or bookcase behind them.

Sometimes they layout and size of a bedroom will make this almost impossible. In these cases it’s possible to remedy the effects of placing the desk with a window behind your child, by placing a large globe of the Earth in the window or between the window and their chair. The Globe will act as a kind of wall in support of your child. It’s always a good idea to have a globe of the Earth in a child’s room.

Your child with a personal kua of 1 should face North for their best result in retention and study. So when picking their bedroom choose one that is conducive to them facing North when sitting at their desk and when they are laying down on their bed, so that their head is pointing North. More on Bed placement next week and the child with the kua of 2.

Feng Shui Tactics For Back To School: Your Child’s Persoanl Kua

Feng Shui Tactics For Back To School

You don't want this to be the norm for your child, so use their personal kua for better results!

This is the first of a series on “Back To School”. Yes, it’s that time already! Whether your child is in pre-school or in High School, their personal kua is paramount to getting results! Growing up is hard to do no matter how you cut it! So, give your child the best support that they can have when studying, doing their homework, retention of information and concepts.

You need to know their personal kua. Be observant! If you suspect your child is gay, then figure their personal kua based on what you believe they are tending towards. If you know they are straight then use the basic personal kua formulas. Do NOT ignore what your gut is telling you about your child. Let’s face it, your child is an individual and is not a doll. As a parent your job is to guide and help this little individual grow and prosper, so beware of pushing your dreams onto your child.

So, you know when your child was born. You know the gender and if you are leaning towards gay then the formula will depend on whether you believe they are feminine energy or not. You don’t have to address this with your child directly. All you need to do is align their bedroom to their kua, let them “come out to you”.

If your child is a girl or a gay feminine then use this formula. If they were born before February 5, use the year prier to the year they were born. Add each digit of the year your child was born, if it is a double digit number add them till you have a single digit. Now add 4 to your answer, again if it is a double digit add them together till you have a single digit. That is your girl’s personal kua. It will be a number from 1 to 9.

Now if your child is a boy or a gay masculine (these will be hard to determine). Do the same as for the girl, but instead of adding 4 subtract the answer from 11. Again the answer will be 1 to 9 and never a double digit.

What will this do for your child? Knowing your child’s personal kua will help you feng shui decorate their bedroom, so that they will be able to retain information better and study easier. It will help them to gain a stronger advantage in their studies!

Can Feng Shui Help Sell Your Home?

Feng shui can help to tip the scales towards your home for a buyer. It isn’t a guarantee that your home will sell. Other factors are at play, such as, is your price fair for the current market? Do you truly want to sell your home or are financial pressures forcing you to consider it? If this is the case, consider other options. If you really need to move for a new career, your needs have grown or you’ve decided it’s time to downsize, then look at your market value and price it accordingly.

Life can sometimes throw us a curve ball. If you are going to take a hit, you might find that the loss turns into a gain in the long run. Sometimes change can mean two steps back and one forward. But before deciding to act on this, consider what direction that one step forward will take you. Will it be full of opportunity to run free or will it be a step to the same place you just came from? Don’t let the real estate market scare you from going after your dreams! Don’t just jump. Take prudent steps towards making a sound decision that you can live with.

Once you have decided to sell, the step will be easier than you think. Feng Shui can help you attract a buyer. Make your home inviting! Visit Feng Shui For Home Interiors: A Safe Harbor From Listing To Close.

Building A Feng Shui Life Plan 2

No matter where you are in your life, you can build a feng shui life plan. You’ll need to know some basics to start a formulation for your feng shui life plan. You’ll find that it will soon become automatic.

  1. Your first piece of information is your personal kua.
  2. You’ll need to know the energy resonance of the home you live in.
  3. You’ll need to put in the remedies for any discrepancies in your home and your head of household’s personal energy resonance.
  4. You’ll need to create your own feng shui buffer at your place of employment. Or if you are self employed arrange your office or shop so that it resonates towards your goals of success.
  5. Know your goals. Write them down and put them in a place that you see them everyday. Do NOT put them in your bathroom.
  6. Take any step towards realigning the feng shui in your life everyday. You’ll find that it comes easier to you as you go along. Learn from an expert or consult an expert for this realignment.
  7. Allow for flexibility in your dreams. Let them change and grow.
  8. Replace goals every time you reach a goal no matter how small.

Feng shui is about maximizing your potential for opportunity! It can be about getting rich, but wealth generation is not always about money. Money is always very nice to have an abundance of. It is free flowing and can buy your goals very quickly. That’s why most people look into feng shui, but feng shui can pull together other goals.

There are eight main aspiration to feng shui. So, don’t just stop at riches. Look at love, education, family, health, fame, career, your children’s future as well as wealth. Don’t be afraid to trade one goal for another. Change is most of the time very good with the right feng shui in place. For great links to other fantastic resources look in our “blogroll”.

Feng Shui Interior Decorating: 7.5 Degrees

Decorating Interior Feng Shui Tips And Compass Direction

Double even triple check your deviation and compass direction or use a G.P.S. ;-)

A friend of mine and I were talking over coffee the other day, he asked me if I had ever had any doubt about feng shui. Of course, I had to tell I was almost ready to throw it all away in frustration. It was going to drive me towards insanity at a time not to long ago. So, I proceeded to tell him about a four year dry spell in my life. 7.5 degrees changed my entire life!

What does 7.5 degrees have to do with anything? It has in feng shui interior decorating everything! You could feng shui your entire home and be off by just 7.5 degrees and you may have activated bad luck instead of activating good luck. So, when I say you need to know the deviation of the property in question, I really mean you need to know! This is personal experience talking!!! Four years of wondering why feng shui wasn’t working! Life wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good. I had the house feng shui just 7.5 degrees off, making it a Southeast 1 facing property when in fact it was an East 3 property.

I chalk this up to experience and it did teach me a lesson on double, even triple checking, even my references. GPS, caught my boo boo! I suggest you use a GPS if you can. Facing direction is paramount in feng shui.

Was it hard to correct? No it was easy, but had I not gotten a GPS unit I might have chucked using feng shui to help me in my endeavors. I would’ve said, “I’m not sure feng shui works. It’s just old ‘Chinese Hokus Pokus’…” . So, make sure you are doing feng shui correctly or hire someone who knows. Feng Shui is a manipulation of energy and therefore the further in the Yin you are the harder it is to correct by yourself. You can be off by just 7.5 degrees and never get your YANG on. 7.5 degrees can make the difference of a lifetime!!!!!!! :-) So get your YANG on!!

Feng Shui Interior Decorating: A Period Change Is Imminent! 113

Feng Shui Interior Decorating: A period change is imminent for this wonderful hand hewn cabin! Though the cabin was built in period 9 of the last Grand Cycle or period 1 of this Grand Cycle, if remodeled today it will be a period 8 structure. We do not know who will become the proud owners of this cabin or where this cabin might be moved, we do know that it will be a period 8 structure once a new roof is placed upon it, locking in the “stars”.

So, here are some decorating interior feng shui tips for the new owners of this fantastic structure:

  1. When deciding how to place the cabin on a vacant lot, try to place it so that it is facing either in a Southwest 1 direction or a Northeast 1 direction.  These are the two most auspicious facing directions for this period.
  2. Before adding any walls to the interior of the cabin, layout the floor plans for each of the perspective floors using a period 8 facing directional chart.
  3. Place the lo shu over the footprint of the cabin and you’ll be able to transfer the water and mountain stars to each of the sectors.
  4. Where the 8 water star is make this your living room, family room or great room.
  5. Place the water rooms such as a laundry room, bathroom or mud room in the sectors with the least auspicious stars. Try to shrink the sector using the placement of walls.
  6. Put the stairwells in a sector that has less auspicious star combination’s, because stairwells move chi, but are not used often enough to have to much influence on health.
  7. Remedy each of the sectors with interior decor.  Paint color, flooring, paintings, wall and window coverings.
  8. Use the feng shui “Flying Stars Rules” to create a more unique and higher quality life.  There is freedom and creativity that come out of the limitation of these rules!  You’ll be surprised at your outcome!

If you are thinking about building a new home from scratch and not reusing an old structure like this cabin, then think about using these same tips when laying out your future home.  Starting the design process using feng shui interior decorating rules will make your life a whole lots better and easier to enjoy the fruits of your labor! ;-)

Feng Shui Interior Decorating: Mirror, Mirror On the Wall! 1

Feng Shui Interior Decorating: Mirror Mirror On The wall

Feng Shui Interior Decorating: The mirror expands the spacial feel of the room.

Feng Shui Interior Decorating: “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest one of all….”, well mirrors seem to be a favorite in feng shui interior decorating. Mirrors are a good remedy for places that need metal energy to balance or exhaust earth or wood energy. Mirrors can also be used to enhance water and metal energy. So how do you decide when to use mirrors? Using to many mirrors and not exploring other options can be a feng shui interior decorating faux pas!

Mirrors are good to use in a spaces that need metal energy, especially if the space is small. Mirrors in this circumstance will expand the spacial feel of the space while at the same time exhaust or destroy the negative stars or energy of the space. Remember that if your goal is to diminish negative stars or energy in this small space you might consider using another metal energy design technique, not only to exhaust or destroy the negative energy, but also to keep it small and undesirable for use if you can afford not to use the space in your home, office or room. If, however, your goal is to enhance positive energy and stars then expanding and making this small space is desirable. Mirrors make sense in this instance.

Feng shui interior decorating is all about balancing vibrations. Mirrors are one way to expand spacial volume, adding metal energy to the space. If you are trying to enhance and support your 1 star in Flying Star Feng Shui or are using Universal Eight Mansions and are enhancing the water sector of career then mirrors are a wonderful way to do that. Why? Metal supports water. If you are trying to diminish or make usable a sector that is ruled by the 5 star or 2 star in Flying Star Feng Shui then you can use mirrors to stabilize and diminish the effects of these two inauspicious earth stars. Metal exhaust earth.

Depending on your personal kua and the uses and layout of your home, office or room you may need to enhance or diminish stars that are supportive or destructive to your personal kua. Be careful here though. Only do this for your head of household’s personal kua, if you are married and if you are not, then make sure you are not disrupting other members of your household. Mirrors are powerful and can be disruptive to the balance of your home, office or room.

My rule of thumb is only use mirrors when you need to expand the spacial feel or spacial volume of a specific area of your home, office or room. Always choose a mirror that is size, design and is geometrically balancing for your objective. Less is more when it comes to mirrors! My take on feng shui interior decorating: Mirror, Mirror On the Wall!
